Details: Since 1997, when TELETOON invited key members of the animation industry to oversee the development of an animation scholarship program, the network is continuing the leadership Canada has always shown in the animation industry by encouraging emerging talent, promoting up-and-coming artists and providing a platform for original ideas. You’ll find some of them have packed their bags and headed down to Pixar Animation Studios; others have been snatched by the likes of Nelvana and Studio B; while some continue to work on their own independent films and future Oscar nominated works. And in achieving such feats, they all have had something in common: they have received encouragement and financial support from the TELETOON Animation Scholarship Award. In the past eight years, they have awarded over $230,000 to Canadian students studying animation, ranging from graduating high school students to mature students hoping to redirect their career.
