The following Scholarships are available for the month of November: (in order by date)
Scholarship Name: Canadian Merit Scholarship-Direct Pool
Due Date: Friday, November 3, 2006
For Who?: Any student with a minimum 85% average and attending one of the folowing universities: Bishop's University, Dalhousie University, Lakehead University, McGill University, McMaster University, Memorial University, Mount Allison University, Queen's University, Simor Fraser University, Universite Laval, Universite de Moncton, Universite de Montreal, University of Alberta, University of British Columbia, University of Calgary, University of Guelph, University of King's College, University of Manitoba, University of New Brunswick, University of Ottawa, University of Saskatchewan, University of Toronto, University of Waterloo, University of Western Ontario, York University.
Amount: Up to $8,000 per year plus a tuition stipend for up to four years of full-time undergraduate study at any one of our participating Canadian universities.
Details: CMSF is Canada's largest independent granting organization of awards for postsecondary undergraduate study. We identify and support scholars who combine academic excellence with strong leadership potential, entrepreneurial skill and a commitment to service in the community. We place them on university campuses across Canada, where we expect them to contribute significantly and honourably, as exemplary citizens, among the undergraduate student body. The CMSF selection process is the most rigorous of any scholarship granting foundation in Canada. We rely on a network of over 300 volunteers living in all areas of the country to assist us in carrying out our selections each year. With their dedication to our process and belief in our goals, we provide outstanding students a chance to excel in their post-secondary academic and community initiatives.

***This scholarship is any student meeting the deadline. YCMHS can also sponsor three students. It is the responsibility of the student to let guidance know if they wish to be considered for sponsorship at least ten days prior to the deadline. See sponsored program here.
Scholarship Name: SPC Card Bursary
Due Date: Friday, November 17, 2006
For Who?: To be eligible for the bursary program, students must meet the following criteria:
1) Students must be 17 years of age or over.
2) Applicants must be Canadian citizens or landed immigrants and provide proof thereof.
3) Candidates must provide proof of financial need and their enrolment in a certified academic program.
Amount: $500
