Scholarship Name: Nova Scotia Tourism Human Resource Council Scholarships-Hotels Association of NS.
Due Date: Monday, May 15, 2006
For Who?: Must be pursuing a recognized tourism post-secondary program and must be graduating from a NS high school this calendar year.
Amount: $1000
Details: Established in 1993, the Hotel Association of Nova Scotia's primary objective is "to make Nova Scotia a 365 day a year travel destination. The principal role of this assocation is to act a voice and represent the collective member hotels in expressing their views to all levels of government, media and academic institutions. This scholarship is presented annually in the amount of 1000.
How to apply: Pick up application in guidance office or download form here (pdf).. Applications must include an offical transcript and an essay of 500 words describing why you have chosen to pursue a career in the hotel industry and why you should be selected as the candidate, a resume and letters of reference (one academic and one extra curricular/professional). Scholarship Name: Nova Scotia Tourism Human Resource Council Scholarships-Walter H. Johnson jr.
Due Date: Monday, May 15, 2006
For Who?: Must be pursuing a recognized tourism post-secondary program and must be graduating from a NS high school this calendar year.
Amount: $1250 award (renewable for 1 year at $750) and a $750 award (renewable for 1 year at $250)
Details: Walter H. Johnson Jr. graduated from Notre Dame in 1939 and he has a long and broad career in: tourism, transportation, marketing and communications. This scholarship is awarded annually.
How to apply: Pick up application in guidance office or download form here (pdf). Applications must include an offical transcript and an essay of 300-500 words in length entitled, "Why I've chosen a career in tourism", and a bound portfolio that includes relevant schoolwork, references and resume.
